Destination Greece Travel

The world is full of tropical paradises, historical landmarks, and a diverse array of cultures. Each country has something different - something special - to offer travelers, if only they know where to look. With so many places to pick from, choosing a destination can be difficult. But knowing a few intricate details from an experienced traveler can help make the decision a little easier.

Cairns, Queensland, Australia

From the looming tropical rainforest to the depths of the Great Barrier Reef, it's nearly impossible not to enjoy a trip to Cairns. Located on the northeastern coast of Australia's North Queensland, Cairns is a relatively small city filled to the brim with attractions. Scuba diving and snorkeling tours are a big hit among many tourists. Beginners have the opportunity to learn to dive in one of the most entrancing underwater environments in the world with a certified guide, while advanced scuba divers are able to explore the depths in a more independent manner.

Submersing in the tranquil waters can be just as eye-opening as soaring over the canopy of the tropical rainforest in a Skyrail cable car. Passengers of the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway have the opportunity to experience the sites from above the treetops. The cableway takes travelers to a shopping strip located in the rainforest where souvenirs can be purchased. From there, a visit to an interactive zoo allows tourists the chance to pet kangaroos, koalas and wallabies, as well as see many other animals native to Australia. After visiting the zoo, a ride on a WWII Army Duck, also known as Mud Duck, takes riders on a short tour through land and water with a certified guide.

To round off the afternoon, tourists are invited to a demonstration of traditional Aboriginal dancing, music, spear-throwing and boomerang-throwing performed by members of an Australian Aboriginal tribe before heading back down the mountain by train for a scenic look at the rainforest at eye-level.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Modern skyscrapers, historical sites and culture around every corner. Kuala Lumpur is a city of diversity. The Petronas Towers, commonly called the Twin Towers, create a monumental center to the city. Filled with high end boutiques such as Chopard and Armani, the shopping center within the towers is a popular destination for residents and tourists. The KL Tower, which stretches 421 meters into the sky, is also a favorite tourist attraction due to its panoramic view of the city from the restaurant located at the top of the building. Another popular site is the Eye on Malaysia.

Taking its passengers to a height of 60 meters, the enclosed capsules on the giant Farris wheel allow riders to enjoy a view of the entire city from above Lake Titiwangsa. A trip to the Batu Caves will provide an eye-opening experience for many tourists, as well. The 272 steps leading to the entrance of the limestone caves create an incredible entrance to the sacred site for Hindu worship. Monkeys run freely through the area, allowing tourists to hand-feed them bananas and bread. Another unique attraction are the fireflies of the Selangor River.
