Absorb the air of the vast open territories, and exciting cities of the West in 10 days. The suggested itinerary is a loop, so you can start and finish it from any point.
Day 1: Seattle, Washington
Seattle epitomizes the spirit of the Northwest with numerous coffee shops, music legends, and green love. Pike Place, Space Needle and Frank Gehry’s Experience Music Project all deserve a visit. The original Starbucks located on Pike Street, the Waterfront, and Pioneer Square are historic attractions, and are a must during your visit to Rain City. Oh, yeah, bring an umbrella!
Day 2: Drive South to Portland, Oregon
Rose City is only 60 miles away from the Pacific Ocean. Don’t miss the International Rose Test Gardens or the Japanese Gardens. Both are beautiful and serene. Check out Pittock’s Mansion for as an amazing bird’s eye view of the city, and a glance at Mt. Hood in the distance. Take a leisure walk along the Willamette River, and hop on the Street Car for free throughout the Fairless Square. The Pearl district and Nob Hill offer elegant dining, wine, and mouthwatering desserts. Look for Portland City Grill for the best seat and seafood in town. And if you love books like the locals, visit Powell’s.
