Travel Channel Vacation Challenge

Recently Suite101.com appealed to parents of twins to share their experiences and challenges of raising multiples. Registered dietitian Lauren O'Connor's humorous response about a recent overseas vacation to Spain with her 2-year-old twin girls, was too good not to share. Lauren proved that traveling with twins is not only a challenge, but is best done with the right attitude and a healthy sense of humor.

The Thought of Traveling with Twins can be a Daunting Prospect

As soon as baby arrives, life changes forever; those last minute outings or quick trips to the grocery store are now a production requiring strategic planning and "just-in-case" supplies. Imagine the procedure with twins? Lauren O'Connor, mother of twins Ailish and Julia, sums it up quite adequately with one sentence, "Think: tight spaces, little faces," she says.

When Lauren first discovered that she was having twins she could only imagine how difficult it would be to get mobile. "The mere idea of just getting out of the house with the two was daunting," she says, quickly upgrading from a compact Ion to a Honda CRV. "And thank G-d for the Snap-N-Go," Lauren adds, noting that while things took a little time to get used to, "Suddenly I was a pro – I could get in and out of the car sometimes faster than moms with just one."
